  The Bible and Scripting

  when i was a teenager i became familiar with transactional analysis.

  it says we all have life scripts we live by.

  I too have studied TA...and partly thanks to it, I discovered my script as more of a to do list.... I realized that there were many things

  I felt compelled to do to fullfil that list and how little input I had on shaping that list until I learned to see it.

  my life up until that point had been about checking those things off that list.....

  there are still a few items on the list but I now realize that I dont have to fullfil them and perhaps never will attain some of the items like this gal I met back in 1998 (^_^)

  I think they were largely shaped by the religion and culture and traditions of my family and neighbors.

  why does the dubs bible change the words from other recognised translations ?

  in the normal bibles john 1:1 says "in the beginning was the word, and the word was with god, and the word was god.

  " .... but the dubs version says"... and the word was a god".

  in the beginning was the word [presumably a person who held the title THE WORD or LOGOS] and this one was with

  THE GOD [presumably another person who held a different title].

  and the Word was god or a god or divine [a description of the nature of the word, not a statement of being the same

  person as THE GOD]

  this fits many other examples in the bible in total... as when Paul said there is only ONE [out of the many gods and lords of the world] who is considered GOD to us [presumably christians], THE FATHER. and one who is LORD [which despite what idiotic trinitarians claim is not equal to Jehovah],... which Paul says is Jesus. 1 cor 8:5,6

  Trinitarians fail to grasp that the christians who read the bible of the first century has no knowledge of any triune god of the jews and since there is no where in the bible explaining one to them, it seems that they fail to grasp this as significant as they have been brainwashed into ignoring this fact.

  There is but one mediator between God and man, THE MAN, Jesus

  we are Heir of GOD and Joint heirs WITH Christ

  btw, to say there that calling the word a god means there is more than one god is just ignorance...the angels are all called beni-elohim and elohim meaning that they are all god[s] or part of the family of divine beings.....grow a freaken brain.

  on may 5, 2005 the thought occured to me: it's 05/05/05.

  now, next year do you think jws -- and/or all fundamentalist groups, etc -- will be anticipating or freak out on june 6, 2006?

  it'll be 06/06/06 or, more diabolically extrapolated (as they do so well...), 666!!!

  about a month or two ago, i spent a week feeling incredibly sad.

  i cried at the drop of a hat and was very, very sad -- about what i didn't know.

  beliefs seem to be the key.... we have a lot of knotty beilefs tied around a lot of assumptions and it takes a while to unknot them and detangle them from the assumptions and to just start seeing things differently.... fortunately we have those knots within us to work with otherwise we would have no chance at getting through them.... many dont realize how they have accepted beliefs and assumptions without question and later dont realize how and when they have changed them and so are always a drift on their emotional oceans without a rudder or sails.

  I tend to always err towards optimism generally. I feel that the world is a great place to be.

  my mom keeps saying that this is a weird world.... and I keep asking her, compared to what?

  good or evil --- compared to what?

  great place to be, compared to what?

  I don't have any "real" standards of comparison.... I discovered that reality is always exactly what it must be...so why compare it to anything else and judge it as if there is some other world that I know about, which I dont? I am here, it is now...and it is always perfectly what it must be until I compare it to something it ain't and only when I forget this simple and obvious truth....that I think things are wrong.

  the fun-dumb-entalists of this country are using it to encrouch on the freedoms of us all...slowly but surely they are

  dominating all aspects of public life to bring about some sort of anti-american theocracy... they seem bent on total control of all in the name of Gee-zuss

  without 1914, the notion of other sheep who will survive the big A is what?

  who then are all these who have lived and died without any heavenly hope? and if just being told that the heavenly hope

  is not for you...is enough to prevent the holy spirit from annointing you...what does that say?

  seems that one sham after another just gets exposed.... but the whole thing seems like a sham if you invesigate to closely

  when you read the news on the net or tv or in the news paper, do you get worried about war, oil prices, ozone depletion, species dying, and the list could go on and on, or are you just numb about it?

  i found these 2 forums, and they really think that the end is close, and they aren't jw's !!!!

  I think you keep forgeting that people today have the ability to kill huge amounts of people with just a push of a button

  if you want to go to the opposite extreme, you can be crippled by fear from any one of a number of possible extinction scenarios...

  we have any number of potential asteriods unseen... we have the caldera of Yellow stone park and about a half dozen other possible others lurking about the globe...etc.

  I was only commenting on the human factor of the scarry news.

  one book I found right on my existing JWs could not have been better timed, I dont recall the name, but the premise

  was simple....

  the news is always bad because the world is mostly good.

  if it reverses then we are all screwed.

  as long as murder is not the norm but the shocking exception, then we are not doing so bad...

  then they showed the stats....

  the us has roughly 300,000,000 people, if just 1% were murdering someone each year that would be a staggering

  3,000,000 murders. where the actual = United States 0.04 per 1000 people or 4 murders for every 100,000 people

  that means 99.999% of the people are not murders, and similar stats exist for all other crimes.

  the sky is falling people turn the insignificant into a monsterous problem.
